Is it possible to use my sub and not disturb my neighbors at the same time?
I recently purchased a KRK 10s subwoofer for my speakers. The sub runs at 225W.
i do wish to crank up my sub once in a while. However, i do not want to be an unpleasant neighbor. I live on the 3rd floor. The apartment is made out of concrete and my unit is also carpeted.
I bought a subdude to reduce the vibrations caused by the sub. I was thinking about raising the sub and using a few pieces of concrete slabs below the sub and the subdude. I do not know if it would work. Any other ideas would be great.
Just ask your neighbors if they can hear anything, that's what I did when I wasn't sure about my music. They said they couldn't hear anything. I have lived in different apt. complex before and totally could hear my neighbors sub and it sounded like a movie theater was right next door or a war was going on. It was really annoying and it was when I was sleeping too and their living room was right next to my bedroom. If you hear banging on your walls or floors you know it's definitely too loud. To reduce level nosies put it against a wall where you know it's not going to go through the wall. General rule is if you're not sure about how loud you're being or how thin the walls are, ask yourself if you can hear other noises from other neighbors, if you can chances are they can hear yours too. If I want to listen to something really loud and want to concentrate on the movie I wear stereo headphones, especially if it's late at night, not all tvs have that option though.
