You need more cow bell.
If its killing your battery you're going to need a higher output alternator. 2,000 watts off a 12V system is 167 Amps, assuming 100% efficiency. But amplifiers can never achieve 100% efficiency. If you have a Class A amp, your max efficiency will be about 35%, so that 2000 watts will cost you a whopping 477 Amps. Class AB amps are better at about 50% efficiency, so you'd need 334 Amps to keep up. Best case would be a Class D amp with up to 90% efficiency, requiring just 186 Amps to pump out those 2000 watts of auditory carnage. Fortunately, Class D amps are the most common for automobiles.
You can try upgrading to a larger capacity battery. If your existing alternator is border-line and you don't run the system at full power for long stretches, you might get away with just upgrading your car battery and adding a huge capacitor (like 1 farad), or a separate battery dedicated to your sound system. But from the sounds of things it, this is probably going to be a waste of time and money (although a big cap, 500mF to 1000F, is still a good idea).
In addition to the juice to run your sound system, you'll also need more power to run those other pesky necessities like your lights, all the neon you've probably added, and don't forget the engine and associated control modules. This will vary from vehicle to vehicle and is best measured (with the sound system off) rather than estimated; and add another 25% for reserve.
So if your overall vehicle power requirement is 50 Amps, and your system uses Class D amplifiers, you will need an alternator (or dual alternator system) that produces around 240 Amps. You may need to go with an alternator with an external rectifier, and also install a beefier voltage regulator module. If you thought that cranium-splitting sound system was expensive, wait until you see the estimate for this work!
Now a question for you: Aside from aggravating the neighbors, warning all large animals within a 1 mile radius of your immanent arrival, or causing aneurysms to develop and explode in persons riding in your vehicle, what practical purpose is there to 2000 watts in a motor vehicle? I have DJ'd at clubs that don't pump out that much power and were still plenty loud.
